Having issues getting the accuweather widget to stay updated and current. Seems like the only way I can get the widget to update is to restart or republish the presentation. Thoughts/suggestions?

Hi there,

Unfortunately Accuweather doesn't auto-refresh. You will need to use our HTML widget in order to embed the weather and configure a refresh interval.

See: https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/iframe_refreshing_and_re_sizing_internal_con...

I hope this helps.

"You will need to use our HTML widget ". Are you speaking of the Rise Vision "Gadget"? This is a paid feature and not in our budget. Surely there is a free HTML Widget that will auto update within Rise Vision. Looking for suggestions.

Thank you. I don't understand how to use the Widget. When I follow the link there is no option to download it. I also found it by searching "HTML Widget" in "Content". It says nothing about "Weather" in the description. If find this very confusing. Does this work in the "Classic" version of Rise Vision?

FYI... I have installed several 3rd party HTML Weather Widgets. They preview fine but do not update properly when running the Presentation.

Ok, now the "Add" button has appeared. I'll continue trying.

Ray,The HTML widget does not support weather on it's own. The HTML widget just displays any html code you'd like. Using this you can add embedded weather widgets directly through HTML. Then using the doc Ashleigh provided you can set it to refresh.

How does this differ from using the "HTML" option available directly using "Properties>Add>HTML"?

Ray,

That is the the HTML Item, which is no longer supported, and can only be added in our Classic Editor at http://rva.risevision.com. I wouldn't recommend using that option as it is no longer supported, and the HTML Widget is far more robust.

To add the HTML Widget to your Presentation in the Classic Editor, right click on your Placeholder and select Properties, then Add, and then Content. In the Content window that comes up, search for (or simply scroll and select) the HTML Widget, then Add.

Once added to your Presentation, select Configure, and the settings window for the Widget will open, and you can enter in all your HTML code into there.

Let me know if that works for you!
