Content Developers out there.
What tips do you suggest to prevent an .swf file from starting and stopping correctly in a player loop?
I've created some content and I'm noticing it start the loop on time but by the sixth or seventh go around it is running half way through the content.
Look forward to your suggestions everyone.
Cheers Dave

Sorry for the delay David,
Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations, but maybe I am misunderstanding the issue. Is there any chance you can post a preview example or short video of what you are seeing? Maybe it will be clearer in a video.
Thanks! -

Thanks David, I just want to make sure that I am understanding the issue 100% before I start trying to replicate.

I’m
happy to help. I can be paid in cheeseburgers!
I have had similar probs running swfs in my presentations.
Here is the answer (one of em!) :
use: fscommand () function. This will tell the player that it has an ending.
All that's left is to make sure you have your timings set up correctly in the playlist. Or use play till done. (depends what ver of rise you are using)
Let me know if this helps :)

@hoppingturtle
Can you give us an example of the code you used to reset an SWF? I tried fscommand("quit"); and it didn't seem to do anything. Maybe I missed something. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Josh,
I believe the command is fscommand("done"), but Phil (hopping turtle) would know better than I.-
Does the system keep the SWF playing in the background when the slide changes? Is there a way to have the page with the SWF on it refresh when it is called to the front?

Josh,
When the Viewer (the mechanism that is showing your Presentation) sends "pause" to the Flash Gadget, the Gadget pauses the SWF and resumes it again when the Viewer tells it to. It is still loaded there in the browser, or else it wouldn't know where to start back up from.
So the SWF does not keep playing, but it does stay loaded in the Browser. I am not aware of any way to refresh the SWF when it is called to the front, but there very well may be a way to do this in the HTML coding.
Does that help? -

Not sure. If it is pausing the SWF and starting it again, then why does it seem to restart out of synch and in the middle of the animation?

Any chance you could post a preview to a Presentation where you are seeing this issue? It would greatly help in diagnosing the issue.
Thanks! -
