Photo Gallery Stops

I am running a display on an Atom 1.6 w/ 2 gb memory. In the presentation I have photo gallery, weather and another small photo gallery. Up until today I had a RSS traffic feed across the bottom which i removed in case that was too much of a drain. The photos are no bigger than 1024x768. After a few days one of the photo gallerys will freeze but everything else works. Any ideas?

If this is a Windows machine, I would recommend running Perfmon and/or Task Manager while the Presentation is running. This will give you an idea as to what content is causing the issue. Typically when the content that is the CPU or memory hog comes onscreen, the CPU and/or memory will give a significant jump, and eventually it will just be too much for the machine.

The Atom 1.6 is not the strongest processor and is fairly old, so my guess would be it is the culprit. Going through Perfmon results or simply watching the Task Manager while the Presentation is running would give you the exact answer.

This blog post gives a detailed overview of how to test your Presentations with Perfmon.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!
