Is there a Rise Vision Power Point Player Gadget being developed?
In the future will there be a gadget to play power point presentations directly in the New Rise Vision Platform? Many clients may not want to deal with all the technicality of creating a presentation in the new platform and would probably like to use a template, drop a power point gadget in place and play a series of power points that they have already created. Any news on anything like this being developed?

Hi Rajaah,
Currently we do not support Powerpoint and have no plans to build a Gadget that supports it, but that does not mean it is out of the question. The more people that hit the "I have this question too!" button above, this is how we consider what we should incorporate into the system.
In the meantime you may want to check out some online presentation tools like Prezi or Google Presentations.
You may also want to consider converting your Powerpoint into Flash using a tool like iSpring Pro. This is what I have always relied on to convert my Powerpoint files into Flash and it works perfectly. Free converters have always left a bit to be desired, but I have never had an issue with iSpring pro.
I hope that helps, let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks! -

Rajaah,
You also may want to check out Slideshare. Apparently you can upload a Powerpoint Transition, and then get the Embed Code to put it into a Presentation.
Thanks! -

I’m
curious
Robb,
Is the Google Presentation Gadget getting some work done in the shop? I was just going to put it into a presentation, but I don't see it listed anymore in the shared gadget list (although admittedly....I need more coffee right now).
Thanks! -

Jeff,
Actually we removed it from being a Shared Gadget because there were issues with it that we decided not to fix, and to instead remove it from the Shared Gadgets list.
You can always add it to your list of Gadgets from here: http://risegadgets.googlecode.com/svn...
We are going to be migrating our Gadgets from that repository in the upcoming weeks, so you may want to save the Gadget to your own Dropbox or online storage location to ensure it continues working in your Presentations.
Sorry for not giving you a heads up!-
Super - thanks Robb!

We currently are not working on a Powerpoint Gadget, and we have no plans to at this time. There are several options for converting Powerpoint to HTML5 that you may want to check out.
One of my recent favorites was HTML5Point. I only tried the demo, but it looks promising. -

Another thing I forgot to mention was since we are an open source platform, you may want to consider building a Powerpoint Gadget to work with our system.
