    Hi there,

If the streaming channel is available via URL, you could use the URL Gadget to get it into your Presentation. Create a Placeholder in your Presentation, and from the list of shared Gadgets, add the Rise Vision URL Gadget. Enter the URL into that Gadget, save and publish your Presentation, and you should be good to go. More info on Presentations, Gadgets and Placeholders can be found here.

I hope that answers your question, please let us know if you have any other issues.

    Thanks!

What are you trying to stream? Are you using an online service like Livestream?

I've managed to broadcast my own live stream over a local network using:

    Wirecast (For broadcast software): http://www.telestream.net/wire-cast/overview.htm

    Wowza Server (For encoding): http://www.wowza.com

JW Player (For embedding into Risevision): http://www.longtailvideo.com/players

I created a new presentation just for the stream in Risevision and dropped some JWplayer embed code between the tags in the html which points to the stream.

I've then added that presentation to a placeholder within another presentation and can essentially live broadcast to my screens when ever I like.

The only issue with this setup is that the audio from the stream plays even if you're not displaying the presentation. This isn't a problem for me at the moment because I don't need the audio and can just mute it. I think I could build a simple gadget to resolve this.

When I get some time later I'll put together some more detailed instructions on how to accomplish this setup.

If you give some more detail about what you're trying to accomplish I'll try to help out.

Next step is to display a TV feed from a local TV tuner efficiently and effectively so you can call on it remotely. I'm interested if anyone has managed to figure this out already.

    Hey Robb,

That post was a big help and pointed me in the right direction, so thank you!

As for TV Tuners, I have a hunch that it can be accomplished with VLC player and JW player.

VLC let's you play from a capture device and then stream using http. VLC can be setup to only stream the feed so it will only play when called upon by JWplayer (or other player if you choose).

I'm just throwing ideas out there because I haven't got this to work yet.

-It may require a local webserver.
-VLC would have to be setup to startup automatically and start streaming from the capture card for this to work seamlessly
