Why does Rise Vision Player display some webpages differently than the version of Chromium that it uses?
Specifically when attempting to display http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/aggregates the URL Gadget is redirected to http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/aggregates?wjb but Chromium (the exe in \rvplayer\chromium) displays the page just fine.
Is this an issue of Javascript, user agent identification, or something completely different?

Hi Edward,
When I tried going to http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/aggregates using the Chromium browser on the Player as well as on Chrome on a different machine, I wind up at the same place with the redirection. My guess is it has something to do with the banner ad within the web page as shown in this screenshot . Either way, I didn't see a difference between how the browser acted and the Player. The web page looks the same in both cases.
Can you provide more detail as to how they looked different between the two when you tried it?
thanks, -

In Chrome (no redirect): http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/25...
In Chromium (redirect): http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/...
I am no longer trying to display this content but my curiosity remains. -

Although the browsers are similar, they aren't exactly the same. Google takes Chromium (open sourced) and modifies it (such as by adding Flash plugin). It is possible that something is added so that the behaviour between the two is different.
